【The 82nd Security and Strategy Seminar】CISS Holds Seminar on “Capacity Building and International Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence”

On the afternoon of April 11, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 82nd Security and Strategy Seminar on “Capacity Building and International Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence.” Moderated by Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of CISS and Vice Dean of the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) of Tsinghua University, the Seminar invited experts from universities, research institutes, and enterprises, including the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), China People’s Liberation Army National Defense University, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), China Mobile Research Institute, Alibaba Group, and SenseTime, to have in-depth discussions on the topics, such as how to enhance AI capacity building and how to strengthen international cooperation and exchange in the field of AI governance.

Participating experts centered around the following topics in the discussions: how to strengthen global AI cooperation with countries worldwide, especially developing countries, to help build global capacity for developing and using AI in a credible, human rights-based, safe, and sustainable manner; how to enhance technology sharing among all parties in an effort to bridge the intelligence divide; how to ensure that global AI governance is beneficial, safe, and fair; fields where AI capacity building and international cooperation can be enhanced, etc.
