YUE Xiaoyong Attends 5th Annual Israel-China Policy Seminar


On December 21 and 22, 2020, the Sino-Israel Global Network & Academic Leadership (SIGNAL) held the 5th Annual Conference on Israel’s China Policy themed “The U.S.-China Rivalry and Israel’s Strategic Landscape” in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The conference featured parallel sessions including “Following U.S. Elections: The U.S.-China Rivalry and Implications for Israel,” “China-Israel Innovation Partnership: Looming Clouds or Bright Future?” and “China in the Middle East: What is Actually Happening?” Ambassador Dr. YUE Xiaoyong, China Forum Expert and Director of the Center for World Studies at the National Academy of Development and Strategy, Renmin University of China, addressed the conference on “Promoting Mutually Beneficial Cooperation Towards a Future for All Humankind.” The event also drew together senior participants from government, business and academia in Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East.


In his remarks, Ambassador Dr. YUE examined the current international landscape and highlighted the predominance of peace and development despite the impact of a legion of daunting global challenges. China will, as always, commit itself to the path of peaceful development and join the rest of the world in building a community of a shared future for humankind upon peace, cooperation, fairness, justice and common prosperity. 

Israel-China trade in H1 2020 exceeded $6.3 billion, an increase of close to 20% amid the global gloom. Ambassador Dr. YUE applauded the achievements in the bilateral ties and the Israel-China innovation partnership, which has benefited the peoples of the two countries and revealed promising prospects for their relationship. 

On U.S.-China relations, he urged objective and rational resolution to current tensions and called for more constructive dialogue and cooperation on critical global challenges to achieve peaceful coexistence.
