2023年11月，习近平主席提出“未来五年邀请五万名美国青少年来华交流学习”，为新时代中美青年交流合作提供了重要指引。在当前全球地缘政治格局深刻调整的背景下，中美两国青年保持沟通、增进理解、深化交流、探索合作，具有重要意义。

在此背景下，“唐山·菩提岛中美青年论坛”由清华大学战略与安全研究中心战略青年（CISS Youth）与中美交流基金会（CUSEF）共同发起，旨在搭建集实地调研、青年对话与联合研究于一体的交流平台，促进中美青年交流互鉴，增进相互理解，凝聚合作共识。

本届论坛以“能源转型与绿色发展”为年度主题，组织中美青年围绕相关议题开展深入交流与研讨。论坛将于2026年8月31日至9月4日在河北省唐山市及菩提岛举行，邀请中美双方各12名青年代表，通过实地调研、专题研讨、集体生活和联合研究等形式，深入考察中国绿色低碳发展的实践经验，围绕中美两国在能源转型与绿色发展领域的机遇与挑战开展交流研讨，共同探讨全球能源治理与可持续发展的未来方向。

论坛形成的研究成果与青年倡议将于2026年11月香港中美论坛青年边会进行展示与发布，为推动两国青年务实交流与合作贡献青年智慧。

Project Overview

Against the backdrop of profound changes in the global geopolitical landscape, it is increasingly important for youth from China and the United States to strengthen communication, enhance mutual understanding, and explore opportunities for cooperation.

Co-initiated by CISS Youth, the youth platform of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University, and the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), the Tangshan–Puti Island China-U.S. Youth Forum aims to provide a platform integrating field research, youth dialogue, and collaborative research.

The 2026 Forum will focus on the theme “Energy Transition and Green Development.” The Forum will take place in Tangshan and Puti Island, Hebei Province, from August 31 to September 4, 2026, bringing together 24 young representatives from China and the United States. Participants will engage in field research, thematic discussions, group activities, and joint research projects to examine China’s green development practices, exploring pathways for global energy governance and sustainable development.

Research outputs and youth proposals developed during the Forum will be presented at the Youth Side Event of the Hong Kong U.S.-China Forum in November 2026, contributing youth perspectives to future China-U.S.dialogue and cooperation.

招募对象

本项目面向中美双方各招募12名青年代表，共24人。申请人应符合以下条件：

对中美关系及全球能源转型、绿色发展等议题具有浓厚兴趣；

具有一定的研究、政策分析、国际交流或传播实践经历；

具备良好的团队协作与跨文化沟通能力；

能够全程参加论坛线下活动，并按要求参加前期两轮线上交流活动。

Participants Eligibility

The Forum will recruit 12 participants from China and 12 from the United States (24 participants in total). Applicants should:

Demonstrate a strong interest in China-U.S. relations, energy transition, green development, or related issues;

Have experience in academic research, public policy, international exchange, communications, or related fields;

Possess strong teamwork skills and cross-cultural communication abilities;

Be available to participate in the entire on-site program and online dialogues.

申请方式

申请流程如下：

提交申请。申请人请于2026年8月15日（含）前将申请材料发送至China_us_youth@163.com。

材料初审。项目组将根据申请材料进行综合评审，并确定面试名单。

线上面试。面试入围申请人将于2026年8月20日前收到电子邮件通知，具体面试安排将在通知中说明。

录取通知。最终录取结果将于面试结束后通过电子邮件通知申请人。

Application Process

The application process consists of the following stages:

Application Submission: Submit the required application materials by August 15, 2026 to China_us_youth@163.com.

Application Review: Applications will be reviewed by the organizing committee, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.

Online Interview: Shortlisted applicants will receive interview invitations by August 20, 2026. Interview details will be provided via email.

Final Selection: Final admission decisions will be communicated to applicants via email following the interviews.
